Frequently Asked Questions

What’s included in the price?

Every tour includes a modern eBike, helmet, and guide. Guided tours also include food / drink / café stop. We’ll let you know what’s covered at the time of booking. One beverage of your choice is included in the price, along with a shared tasting plate. If you want something more substantial, or a second drink, then you are welcome to bring extra money.

What should I bring?

Closed shoes, a water bottle, and clothing suited to the weather. Sunscreen is a good idea if it is sunny. We’ll provide the helmet and good company.

Who will be guiding the tour?

Every tour is led by a local guide (usually me, Maire!) who knows the area well and loves to share the stories, sights and flavours of Te Tai Tokerau.

Will I get a chance to stop for photos or food?

Absolutely. These tours are about the experience, not speed. We stop to take in the views, hear a few stories, and enjoy something tasty.

Do I need to be super fit?

Nope. Our tours are designed for everyday riders, not Olympic athletes. We can recommend the best route for your ability and make sure you’re comfortable every step of the way.

Is there an age limit?

Yes. The recommended minimum age is 13 due to the size and power of our bikes. If you have a rider that does not meet the eligibility requirements talk to us before booking. Riders aged 16 and under need a guardian to sign the check-in form. Riders aged 17 and over must sign for themselves.

What if something breaks or gets damaged?

We carry basic tools and check bikes before every ride, but if any equipment is lost or damaged during your tour, you may be charged for replacement or repair.

What are the maximum and minimum amount of riders?

Maximum of 6. Minimum of 2. We like to keep the groups small for a more personal experience.

Refunds and Cancellations

What’s your cancellation policy?

Cancellations made within 6 days of your tour departure are non-refundable.

If severe weather makes it unsafe to ride, you’ll receive a full refund minus a small booking fee of $15. In genuine emergencies, we’ll do our best to reschedule your tour, but refunds are not guaranteed. All cancellations must be made in writing via email.

Postponements can be requested up to 48 hours before your tour. If approved, we will hold the credit for 12 months to allow rebooking.

What happens if I just don’t show up?

If you don’t turn up for your tour and haven’t contacted us, no refund will be given.

Can I get a refund if I’ve booked but can’t ride?

If you're found to be unsuitable for the tour due to safety or ability, and it's within 48 hours of departure, bookings are non-refundable. We’ll try to adjust the route or offer a different tour if possible, but we can’t guarantee it.

What if the weather’s bad?

We ride in most conditions, but safety always comes first. If we decide the weather makes riding unsafe, we’ll cancel and offer you a full refund or help you rebook.

Do you ever cancel tours?

Yes. We reserve the right to cancel if the weather is unsafe, if minimum numbers aren’t met, or if the tour isn’t a good fit for the rider. We may suggest a different tour if it suits better.
